About

Hi, my name is Lisa; welcome to my corner of the internet!

I am looking for work either as a copywriter at an advertising agency or as a content writer.

I am currently taking courses toward the Certificate in Creative Writing at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies, because I believe that at the heart of every piece of writing—no matter its length—is a good story.

At the end of 2023, I worked for Chimera Collective as a freelance copywriter.

Earlier that year, I worked for Israel Bonds Canada as a freelance copywriter as well.

In 2022, I worked for trevor//peter as a contract copywriter and prior to that, I worked as a copywriter for JA Central Ontario.

In the spring of 2022, I completed the Copywriting Portfolio Program at Miami Ad School Toronto. As part of the program, I had copywriting internships at JOAN Creative (New York, NY), dentsu mcgarrybowen (Toronto, ON), and McCann Canada (Toronto, ON).

In my spare time, I enjoy being a snob about things like books, writing, and grammar. (Regarding the latter, I find a strange happiness in agonizing over things like whether that one comma is really necessary…unless it happens to be the Oxford comma, which is always necessary.)

On the flip side, I am very open-minded when it comes to music. (Ask me about my embarrassing songs playlist. Or don’t. It’s…a ride.)

In addition, I like to collect unusual and/or old lady-esque things such as antiques (If they look like they’d belong in a cottage in the English moorlands circa the 1800s, I’m in!) and turkey socks (Yes, I have more than one pair.).

I also proudly identify as a Crazy Dog Lady, even though I don’t have a dog…yet.

When it comes to my work, I am enthusiastic, ambitious, and detail-oriented (some would say to a fault, but I prefer to ignore those people). I’m also a big fan of creative problem-solving and coming up with new ideas and ways of doing things.

Well, it looks like you’ve made it to the end of my ~quirky~ bio! Congrats!

Why not celebrate by hitting me up and offering me an interview at your organization?!
